Shooting Sports Industry News: Glock Signs Norris; Sig Academy Adds Women's Course

Glock, Inc. has partnered with legendary world champion martial artist, actor, producer, philanthropist and entrepreneur Chuck Norris, who will serve as company spokesman.

“Chuck Norris revolutionized and ushered martial arts into the American mainstream just like Glock revolutionized firearms by inventing and commercializing polymer-based pistols and the Safe Action System” said Josh Dorsey, Vice President of Glock. “Having him represent the Glock brand brings two iconic names together that are mutually committed to perfection and their fan base. We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership.”

The collaboration will include traditional, digital and social campaigns as well as public appearances, the first being April 26-27 at the NRA Annual Conference in Indianapolis.

“I’m honored to partner with this world-renowned brand,” Norris said. “The values I have built my life and brand on—tough, real, constant and powerful—are echoed in everything that Glock does and creates. Let me put it this way, if I ever decided to go into firearms, there would be no point — I would just be recreating what Glock has already built. The only thing that would change is the name.”

Eley Shooters Focused on Tokyo Olympics

It’s an exciting time for Eley ammunition manufacturer and its team of sponsored shooters as all eyes are fixed firmly on Japan. That’s because throughout this year, a number of quota places for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are up for grabs.

Using ELEY tenex .22LR cartridge, competitive level shooters are stepping up to fight for a prestigious place at the next Olympics. With more than 180 years experience, engineering excellence is central to the success of Eley tenex. Eley engineers combine state of the art machinery with high speed electronic visual inspection systems and Six Sigma methodologies.

The iconic flat nose projectile of Eley tenex is an innovative example. As the bullet cuts through the air, its design pulls the centre of pressure forwards, aerodynamically stabilizing the projectile and increasing accuracy at the target. Precise manufacturing techniques form cartridge cases of uniform length from a tightly controlled brass alloy. This ensures each propellant charge burns in a controlled volume, delivering consistent energy to each projectile.

A recent example of tenex’s medal winning success was at the first ISSF World Cup of 2019 in New Delhi. Swiss shooter Nina Christen claimed gold with the Eley round with a final score of 457.1. It was Christen’s first World Cup gold and earned her a coveted 2020 quota place.

ELEY tenex air

Sergey Kamenskiy cemented his position as world No. 1 in the men’s 10m Air Rifle event with a gold medal winning performance. Using ELEY tenex air, Sergey’s final shot scored a huge 10.6 to clinch the gold and give him an overall score of 249.4. This validated his ticket to the upcoming 2020 Olympics.

How precise are these world class pellets? The Eley tenex air .177 caliber pelletss are 4.49/4.50/4.51 diameters and 8.2 grains. They deliver exceptional accuracy with 30% greater weight control than any competitor and damage-resistant packaging.

Retailers can place orders for tenex and tenex air through Zanders Sporting Goods.
