The votes for the 2021 Archery Trade Association Board of Directors are in, and one Board member was reelected, while the ATA welcomes two new members.
Teresa Williams, CEO of 3Rivers Archery, was reelected to serve a four-year term through March 31, 2025. Meanwhile, Keith Arnold, National Sales Manager for TenPoint Crossbows, and Timmy Thomas, Consumer Education and Outreach representative for Morrell Targets, join the Board for their first term. All three individuals are eager to represent the ATA and its members.
"After the absence of the Trade Show this past year, I believe there is hard work ahead of us to ensure both continuity for future shows and diversification of revenue streams," Williams said. "It is an honor to continue to serve on the ATA Board of Directors and I’m committed to working towards the long-term sustainability of the organization."
Arnold had similar thoughts: "I am very pleased to join the ATA Board. I look forward to strategizing with the other Board members on how we can turn the recent 'Covid bowhunting converts' into long-term archery participants, that will sustain our industry for the next generation. I will contribute on initiatives that benefit both manufacturers and retailers alike.
“On the manufacturing front, I intend to focus on driving-down the volume of counterfeit products that are currently being offered in the archery industry. Specifically for archery retailers, I hope to contribute on initiatives that better equip independent retailers to compete and thrive in today’s retail climate. The ATA is truly 'Archery's Watchdog' on many fronts, and I am excited to be a part of the team!"
Thomas is also enthusiastic about joining the Board: "I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with the ATA Board. I know they spend many hours working to expand and promote archery and diligently work to help the industry. I am an avid bowhunter and target archer. I also love to shoot tournaments: 3D, Indoor, Field and FITA. I attend as many different events around the country as I can every year. Whether they are ASA, NFAA, IBO or USA Archery, I love them all.
“Owning a pro shop for many years taught me exactly how much work, dedication and passion it takes to keep a business running. Working for state fish and wildlife agencies as an archery education coordinator, I understand the hours that are required by not only the coordinator, but the many volunteers to make programming successful.
“My hope is to bring my experience to help the ATA expand archery in every way, whether it is shooting targets, hunting, retail or programming. I truly love all aspects of our sport. I have found great joy in introducing people to archery. I love nothing more than seeing someone who felt they could not shoot a bow, succeed in doing so. My hope is that everyone may someday have the opportunity to experience the magical flight of the arrow."
Departing the Board after serving multiple terms are Rob Kaufhold, President/Owner of Lancaster Archery Supply, and Lonnie Workman, Regional Sales Manager of PSE Archery. The ATA thanked them for their years of service to the Board, and the work they continue to do for the archery and bowhunting industry.
