2020 Muzzy Classic Bowfishing Dates Announced

It’s time to start thinking spring, and specifically the 2020 Muzzy Classic. Dates for the popular bowfishing event will be July 11-12, 2020.

Last year marked the 20th Anniversary of this event, and the turnout was a record. Competitors from across the country visited Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville, Kentucky, to bowfish the waters of Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake, as well as the Tennessee River and Cumberland River. The specific bodies of water to be targeted have yet to be named for the 2020 Muzzy Classic, but this year participants should plan on traveling to Eddyville for another fun night of bowfishing. The weigh-in will take place on July 12, 2020.

During the 2019 Muzzy Classic, 93 boats took to the local waters to compete for bragging rights and major cash prizes offered in the following categories: Big 20, Numbers, Big Fish Pot and the Big Silver Pot. In total, nearly $30,000 was given out, making this tournament one of the highest payout bowfishing tournaments in the country.

Everyone is welcomed to attend this event; entertainment, food, drinks and field games are available for all visitors. Last year, outdoor personalities Tim Wells, Chuck Belmore, Jon Justice, Melissa Bachman and the Catchin’ Deers crew joined in the weekend’s festivities. Event planners say the 2020 Muzzy Classic will offer more of the same.

Not only did the 2019 Muzzy Classic draw a large number of competitors, but shooters also removed a tremendous number of harmful roughfish from local waters.
