During USA Archery's Word Team Trials the first week of April, high school freshman Casey Kaufhold won a top spot on the women’s recurve archery team that will represent the United States this summer at the World Archery Championships and the Pan American Games. As an encore, she won the women's recurve division at the Arizona Cup USAT Event.

Following a grueling 7-day trials process shooting in the desert outside Phoenix immediately before the Arizona Cup, Casey emerged as the No. 1 ranked female recurve archer on Team USA. Her fellow female recurve teammates will be Erin Mickelberry and five-time Olympian, Khatuna Lorig.

The 2019 World Archery Championships are scheduled for June 10-16 in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, and the 2019 Pan American Games will be held July 26-Aug. 11 in Lima, Peru.

On April 6-7, Casey continued shooting her Hoyt recurve in the Arizona Cup USAT event, finishing first over the women’s recurve archers competing among the 595 total competitors from around the world. The Arizona Cup is the first of a series of national, outdoor tournaments put on by USA Archery every year.

Standing on top the podium at the recent Arizona Cup USAT event is Casey Kaufhold, the 15-year-old daughter of Carole and Rob Kaufhold, founder and CEO of Lancaster Archery Supply, Inc.

On her Facebook page, Casey Kaufhold wrote the following regarding the top photo: “Yesterday was the last day of the Pan Am U.S team trials, and I ended up as the first seed on the team. This picture was during one of the ends from the round robin matches shot on the last day to secure my spot. Overall I was happy with my performance, and I am super grateful to be traveling with the team.”
