The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry trade association, has awarded its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence to RTSP firearms range and retail store.
Located in the densely populated and affluent Randolph township in New Jersey’s Morris County, RTSP is open seven days a week, with special members-only hours Saturday and Sunday that lend to the cachet of this aesthetically appealing facility. The store and range have an overall footprint of more than 35,000 square feet, including 15,000 devoted to training, another 4,000 for the range’s on-site shoot house, plus additional specialized spaces that include a dojo and digital simulator.
An impressive retail store of top-line brands complements RTSP’s two shooting bays, one at 25 yards, another at 15 yards, with 21 lanes total. An extensive rental gun program helps support a dedicated focus on training; RTSP offers more than 30 classes, everything from one-on-one personal training with rifle, handgun or shotgun to group classes covering everything from tactical skills, gun cleaning, holster drawing and home defense to pepper spray use, ASP instruction, MSR builds and a variety of Sig Sauer armorer courses, among others.
“There’s an immediate feel when you walk through the door that this is a first-class operation,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Range Services. “RTSP’s dedicated staff and a phenomenal list of training options contribute greatly to that feeling, creating a welcoming environment that has customers returning again and again. That this range operates at this level and thrives in a state with some of the most restrictive firearms regulations in the country only underscores the owners’ commitment to both their facility and their community. No doubt, this is an outstanding range.”
“We are very excited to have earned the NSSF Five-Star rating again and to have met the new requirements,” said Brad Tremaroli, the range’s owner. Being the first and only Five-Star NSSF range in New Jersey is an honor and we are excited to continue to excel for our customers.”
NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff.
NSSF Member ranges that meet a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
