Crimson Trace is celebrating its 25th anniversary, a milestone after the first days when founder Lew Danielson began installing laser diodes in Glock pistols for eager customers.

Danielson began Crimson Trace in 1994 in the back room of an Oregon machine shop. His first orders were for the lasers to be installed on the Glocks. Since then Crimson Trace has expanded to handle a wide variety of firearms in many brands and models.

Some notable milestones include:
— the release of the Lasergrips laser sights for 1911 pistols
— LiNQ wireless remote activation technology for laser sights and lights for MSR rifles
— the Crimson Trace Free Batteries for Life program
— the patented Instinctive Activation laser sight engagement system.
— added green laser diodes to numerous laser sights beginning in 2012.
— recently added tactical lights, red dot sights and riflescopes to its growing product categories.

Crimson Trace works with many firearms manufacturers in product designs and special product packages including Browning, Kimber, Remington, Smith & Wesson and others. Crimson Trace offers products through more than 2,500 dealers across America. The company’s products can be easily installed without requiring modification of the firearm —or special gunsmith skills.

The 25 years at Crimson Trace have resulted in numerous prestigious recognitions. The company also sponsors many events in the shooting industry, and launched the Midnight 3-Gun shooting competition in 2012. That all-night competition in the sandy desert required the use of laser sights and lights to complete the numerous shooting challenges.
