ATA Unveils Quarterly Retail Business Tracker Survey
The Archery Trade Association has launched a new quarterly Retail Business Tracker Surveyto gain insight from retailers across the country to help members adapt to changing conditions both regionally and nationally.
The survey collects information quarterly from shop owners and managers in four different regions used by the census bureau. A statistically significant number of ATA retail members were chosen in each region to provide information on overall sales, types of sales, customer demographics and retailer sentiment.
“Data and reliable facts are crucial to our members as they make critical business decisions every day,” said ATA President and CEO Jeff Poole. “The purpose of this new survey is to provide our members with meaningful information they can use to help manage their business.”
Additionally, open-ended questions on what customers are talking about and the challenges and concerns shop owners face can provide insight into customer interests. The survey results are presented nationally as well as regionally.
A preview of the results can be found here, where members can also download the free report. To join the ATA and gain access to the full survey, visit archerytrade.org/membership.

Schloesser and Lopez Win Gold at World Cup in Mexico
The biggest event of the international outdoor archery season this year was the World Archery World Cup in Tlaxcala, Mexico, and 16 of the best compound archers in the world battled it out for the top title in target archery.
Once again, Netherlands’ archer Mike “Mister Perfect” Schloesser and Colombia’s Sara Lopez took the top steps on the podium. Schloesser lived up to his “Mister Perfect” moniker, shooting a perfect 150 points to defeat Nicholas Girard of France, who delivered a 149 in the gold medal final. This is Schloesser’s fourth World Cup win. On the women’s podium, Sara Lopez cemented her position as the greatest archer in World Cup history, taking her seventh champion’s trophy.
In addition to the compound champions, all 16 recurve shooters competing in the World Cup final used arrows from Easton Archery.
Mystery Ranch Releases “Going Home” Film
Mystery Ranch, an industry-leading backpack company devoted to making mission-specific packs, recently announced the release of "Going Home." This latest film from Mystery Ranch and Still Crazy Productions takes viewers into the whitetail woods to detail one's past and present as a hunter.
In the film, Mystery Ranch’s Chris Nolan takes a whitetail hunting trip to reconnect with the people and terrain that sparked his interest in hunting some 25-plus years ago. The film documents Chris's trip back to visit his family in Michigan and relive his childhood roots that created a passion for whitetail hunting that still burns inside him today.
"As far back as I can remember, hunting has always been a part of my family," said Chris. "Some of my earliest memories center around hunting these lands. Shooting traditional bows with my brother in our backyard and proud moments after taking our first deer."
Through the film (below), Mystery Ranch hopes to remind viewers that no matter who they are, it’s important to remember the reasons and people who got you involved in hunting.
