Copper John/STAN Creates New Partnership

Pete Crawford, president and CEO of Clear Track Consulting and a long-time outdoor industry consultant and executive, recently took an equity interest in Copper John Corporation. Crawford purchased shares from former co-principal Doug Springer and created a partnership with co-principal Eric Springer.

Crawford said, “Doug and Eric built a great business in Auburn, New York. It has been a fixture in the archery community for over 20 years. Their acquisition many years ago of the Stanislawski (STAN) brand only added to that legacy. I am especially excited to be back in the archery business and to be doing it with a best-in-class product like STAN!”

“It has been great working in a family business all these years,” said Eric Springer. “With my brother wanting to pursue some other exciting business opportunities, it was perfect timing to partner with Pete.”

Doug Springer said, “Copper John/STAN has been a labor of love for over 20 years. When we bought STAN, we told Mel Stanislawski we would take good care of his brand, and I know he would be pleased to have Pete involved. Pete and Eric combine the best marketing and engineering talent in the industry, and I’m excited to see what they will do with the company.”

Crawford and Springer worked with the law firm Barclay Damon LLP and its Outdoor & Wildlife Team to complete the transaction. “Barclay Damon’s expertise in M&A, IP, and labor law and their practical approach and archery industry knowledge made this transaction much easier,” Crawford said. “Having worked with Barclay Damon for over 12 years, I look forward to growing our patent portfolio and our business with their expert guidance. Eric and I want to thank them for helping us get this done!”
