TrackingPoint Drops Prices, Releases New Rifles

TackingPoint, makers of the world's first commercially-available precision-guided firearm, has just slashed its prices for the AR variant of its high-tech rifle and has released new models in popular calibers.

Last year, TrackingPoint released the 5.56 variant of its lineup for around $9,995, but today the company announced it has dropped the price to $7,495.

“We see a day in the not too distant future, where all rifles are precision-guided,” said TrackingPoint CEO John Lupher. “TrackingPoint has created the $7,495 precision-guided semi-automatic to enhance the experiences of hunting and shooting enthusiasts looking to take their sport to the next level. Utilizing fighter jet lock-and-launch technology, Precision-Guided Firearms empower anyone to consistently make shots that were previously considered beyond human ability”

TrackingPoint says the 5.56 variant can lock onto targets out to .75 miles and deliver precision shots moving as fast as 10 mph.

Along with the price cut for the 5.56, TrackingPoint will also offer a newly redesigned PGF chambered in 7.62mm and a new .300 WinMag AR-style rifle. The company says the 7.62 rifle can lock on out to .5 miles and track a target moving 15 mph, while the 300 WM can zap in at .5 miles and track a target moving up to 20 mph.

“The new semi-auto models were designed for several missions including wild boar eradication, predator control (including coyotes), whitetail hunting, homestead defense, and precision target shooting,” said TrackingPoint CEO John Lupher. “Precision-guided semi-automatic rifles are the game changer. Routinely making extraordinary shots at extreme distances on moving targets is a thrilling experience.”

The 7.62 carries an MSRP of $14,995 while the 300 WM comes in at $18,995.
