FN America has announced the launch of a new promotion, the Power Up Your FN SCAR program which offers buyers of FN SCAR 17S carbines a free accessory pack.
For a limited time, purchasers of a new FN SCAR 17S will qualify to choose from two different free accessory pack options. The first is a SureFire M600P Fury Scout Light (retail value of $349) and the other is a Midwest Industries Tactical extended rail system and four FNH USA 20-round magazines (combined retail value of $364). Qualified purchasers who bought their FN SCAR 17S between October 13 and December 15, 2014, can visit www.fnhusa.com/r/promotions/powerupyourscar to download a form and submit it to claim their accessory pack.
The FN SCAR 17S is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm based on the U.S. military’s Mk 17 SCAR-H. It utilizes a short-stroke piston system and has a hammer forged 16.25-inch free-floating barrel. A monolithic rail runs along the top and additional rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions allow for a wide range of accessory mounting options. It has an adjustable side-folding stock and comes with adjustable folding iron sights.
The SureFire M600P Fury Scout Light is a 600-lumen white LED unit with a wide reflector-shaped beam with increased surround light. It’s 5.7 inches long and mounts on standard tactical rails with a thumbscrew clamp. It comes with both a push-button tail cap and a tape switch with a 7-inch cable. It’s constructed of hard anodized aluminum and operated on two CR123A batteries. Those who select the SureFire option can choose either black or flat dark earth for their M600P Fury Scout Light.
The Midwest Industries SCAR Rail Extension adds six inches of usable rail to the SCAR and has two anti-rotation quick detach sockets for push-button swivels. The rifle can be serviced with the extension installed, including removal of the gas piston. It’s constructed of hard anodized aluminum and can be chosen in either black or flat dark earth.
