Magpul has introduced new angled folding back-up sights designed to allow quick transition to open sights from primary optics without requiring removal of the optics. The MBUS Pro Offset Sights are based on the standard MBUS Pro platform and are constructed of steel with a Melonite coating. They mount on standard M1913 Picatinny-style tactical rails. Both the front and rear MBUS Pro Offset Sight have a very positive detent which keeps them deployed even during heavy firing but still allows the sight to be easily folded back by the operator or by an impact that would otherwise damage the sight. The mounting bracket sits less than .25 inches inch above the rail, keeping clear of virtually any optic.
The MBUS Pro Offset Rear Sight is adjustable for windage without tools and features the same dual aperture of the standard MBU Pro Rear Sight and the same serrated indexing pads and rear face for positive grip and glare reduction.
The MBUS Offset Front Sight can be adjusted for elevation without tools and has the same positively detent as the rear sight that provides precise tactile clicks. It also has the same serrated surface to increase grip with gloved or sweaty hands and to reduce glare.
When deployed, both the front and rear Magpul MBUS Pro Offset Sights are the standard AR height over the bore.
With the increasing popularity of advanced optics among even recreational shooters, an accurate and dependable set of back-up sights is a must in the event of battery failure, optic damage, loss of zero, or sudden close encounters. Offset units such as the MBUS Pro Offset Sights allow a quick shift to Plan B if required, and also an easy return to Plan A if the primary sights are restored to working condition.
The Magpul MBUS Pro Offset Front Sight retails for $84.95 and the MBUS Pro Offset Rear Sight retails for $104.95. Both are available now.
