The new DDM4V11 takes the popular V9 carbine from Daniel Defense and updates it with the KeyMod system. KeyMod is the new accessory attachment design for directly installing components onto a more ergonomic rail system that offers “return-to-zero.” Daniel Defense’s new SLiM Rail 15.0 is a 15-inch handguard rail that has an uninterrupted Picatinny rail on top and KeyMod attachment slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. “Our customers have been hounding us for a KeyMod rail”, laughs Jordan Hunter, Daniel Defense Director of Marketing. “Not only were we able to deliver, but we managed to reduce the weight. You’ll be amazed at how light the V11 feels in hand.”
Three models of the DDM4V11 are available. The Government model has a 16-inch barrel and weighs 6.28 pounds. The Lightweight model has a 16-inch light barrel that shaves the gun’s weight down to 6.15 pounds. The Strength to Weight model has an 18-inch heavy barrel and weighs 7.43 pounds.
All DDM4V11 models are chambered in 5.56x45mm and have machined aluminum lower receivers that feature Daniel Defense’s enhanced flared magazine well and are Type III hard coat anodized. The machined aluminum upper receivers have indexing marks and M4 feed ramps. The gas system is mid-length for the Government and Lightweight models, while the Strength to Weight model has a rifle-length system. All three use Daniel Defene’s new glass-filled polymer buttstocks and pistol grips with soft touch overmolding for comfort and a sure grip.
The KeyMod SLiM rail, CNC machined of 6061-T6 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized, will be available separately in the future.
