The Archery Trade Association offers retailers exciting, exclusive opportunities to master skills for turning empty ranges into bustling profit generators.
Archery Bootcamp is a unique five-day workshop that gives retailers, programmers and other archery-industry professionals a crash course in making businesses thrive. “The ATA is excited to offer this brand-new opportunity for gaining the necessary knowledge, certifications and equipment training to become an asset to any retail shop,” said Jennifer Mazur, ATA’s director of archery and bowhunting programs.
This new program is part of ATA’s Archery Academy, a program made possible through grants from the Easton Foundations. The Archery Academy’s goal is to grow archery and bowhunting participation. Industry professionals have busy schedules, so the ATA conducts this “boot camp” in a condensed timeframe to ensure attendees learn the necessary skills without missing too much time behind their counters.
The inaugural Archery Bootcamp will be held April 23 to 27 at the Easton Center in Salt Lake City. Attendees will learn to boost business by polishing customer-service skills, developing community-archery programs, and learning to merchandise and repair archery products.
Recreational archery programs make businesses more profitable by increasing participation in leagues, classes and competitions; and setting fair prices on range fees, equipment sales and upgrades, and private and group lessons. Archery Bootcamp also teaches business owners and others to craft custom plans for programs in their communities.
Attendees receive instructor certifications, which boosts the business’s credibility, marketing value and staff knowledge, all of which improve customer service. Attendees obtain their Level 2 certification, which gives access to ATA’s Explore Archery program and the Junior Olympic Archery Development program. USA Archery, Archery Shooters Association and National Field Archery Association all recognize those certifications. Bootcamp participants also earn Scholastic 3-D Archery instructor certifications. S3DA is one of the nation’s fastest-growing archery programs, and also teaches bowhunting ethics.
In addition to instructor certification, Archery Bootcamp teaches attendees how to choose equipment, and inspect and repair gear. The course also covers crossbow education and repair techniques. These skills improve customer-service performance and create trusting relationships with customers.
The five-day Archery Bootcamp costs $1,600, but it’s valued at over $3,000. The cost covers breakfasts, lunches, lodging and instructor fees. Travel is not included. To register for this exciting opportunity contact Jennifer Mazur, jennifermazur@archerytrade.org.
