All Star Archery’s Top Product Picks for 2019

Troy Blackall from All Star Archery in Lewisville, Texas, makes his best-of-the-best product picks for 2019.

All Star Archery’s Top Product Picks for 2019

Longtime archer and bowhunter, Gary Kinard, started a marine-electronics business more than 36 years ago. In 2002, it became All Star Archery when he added archery and bowhunting to the mix. The rest is history.

Today, All Star Archery has two store locations: one in Lewisville, Texas, the other in Dallas, Texas. Kinard currently serves as president of the National Archery Buyers Association (NABA). As well, he’s on the ATA Retail Council and ATA Board of Directors.

Troy Blackall, general manager of the Lewisville store, said that the ATA Show is a platform where he can see new products and buy what he cannot at the NABA Show, which is where he does most of his ordering each year. At ATA 2019, Blackall was hunting for innovative, lighted nocks and various other archery accessories.

“A lighted-nock company we’ve previously dealt with didn’t uphold MAP pricing with one of its box-store retailers last year, which caused most pro shops to suffer,” Blackall said. “I found some cool replacements at ATA. Glory Nock is a good one, as is the Victory Spot Nock. In fact, I’ve field-tested that one out already on some deer. It’s a great-performing nock at an incredible price point. I believe Victory will virtually own the lighted-nock market share real soon.”

“The Trophy Ridge accessory line blew me away,” he continued. “I’m especially fond of the React sights. The technology is absolutely incredible. Once you sight-in the React One Pro at 20 and 30 yards, it automatically positions yardage marks in 10-yard increments out to 100 yards. We’re going to do a lot with Trophy Ridge this year. Great products.”

“I had the Mathews Vertix (top photo) in stock well before the ATA Show,” Blackall stated, “but we sold so many that I placed another large order at the show. That bow is just killing it for us this year.”
