In 1947, Hodgdon Powder Company founder Bruce Hodgdon established the Hodgdon Powder Company as a leader in the ammunition handloading and reloading market. In the early days of reloading, Bruce Hodgdon partnered with companies such as Hornady, Lyman, MEC, Nosler, RCBS, Redding, Sierra Bullets, Speer and other manufacturers to teach consumers how to reload. He did this by traveling around the country hosting reloading seminars. In 2019, Hodgdon will continue this Reloading Roadshow concept.
Hodgdon will again collaborate with many of its original manufacturing partners, but it will also partner with Dillon Precision, Frankford Arsenal and Lee. The company will also team up with local Hodgdon dealers and bring in NRA-certified reloading experts to train consumers on reloading. Hodgdon can also tailor courses to handgun or rifle, or even shotshell reloading if needed.
“Grandad started this concept over 50 years ago, personally traveling around the country to show consumers how to reload,” said Chris Hodgdon, public and media relations manager. “I think he would be proud to see his family and his company keeping this tradition alive.”
More From Hodgdon
In addition to the news about the Reloading Roadshow, Hodgdon recently announced that it will be a distributor of Alliant Powder for 2019.
Hodgdon currently distributes smokeless powders under the Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester Smokeless Propellant brand names. Hodgdon Powder Company also owns and distributes the GOEX black powder brand. For 2019, Hodgdon has added Alliant Powder to the list of smokeless powders and will be distributing this powder to customers.
“Powder distribution is our core competency,” said Chris Hodgdon. “In the past, we have distributed both VihtaVuori powders, as well as Alliant, so this is a natural fit for us to offer to our customers.”
Hodgdon Powder Company does not sell direct to consumers but Alliant is immediately for sale for sporting trade customers.
